In studying the ring he saw at the British Museum as well as other examples they all had similar problems that I would need to solve:
None were durable enough to be worn daily
All of the mechanical aspects would dig into his fingers
With all the hinges visible it did not have a clean contemporary look

By designing internal hinges we were able to give the ring a clean look and durable hinges that would last a lifetime as well as be comfortable to wear.
